The internet feels that the word 'toxic' has been an overused term. People are trying to become more self aware and genuinely don't want any toxic people in their lives. No toxic relationships, no time for toxic friendships, and no toxic work environments. Not sure how its an overused term when in reality people are now becoming more aware or as some would say "woke." What is the issue with actually addressing toxicity?!
There really is no issue with addressing toxic people and there is certainly no problem with not wanting to be a part of anything negative. Family, friends, jobs etc. anything can be toxic to someone. What worked last year may not work this year and that is fine to be able to realize these things. Being able to speak on toxicity shows that as a society we have come a long way. We are aware of abusive behavior. No matter what the situation may be it is great to see that self awareness and self love is a priority.
What goes hand in hand with toxicity?! ACCOUNTABILITY!!! Yes accountability! Let's talk about it. We can scream how much we don't want toxic people in our lives but we must also take accountability for our own actions. How are you contributing to toxic behavior? Are you being toxic to someone else? Have you changed your patterns or environment to not have room for toxic people? In conversation the other day someone said she doesn't do drama and guys are this and that but not once did she look at herself and say damn maybe I keep going for the same kind of guys. Self inflicted wounds are real so while we are aware of toxicity make sure you hold yourself and others accountable with the same standards. There is no love like self love so be great and greatness will come into your life!
