Social media...the lion's den...

We are so connected yet so disconnected in the type of society we live in. Technology has made everyone post their every move and creating a facade for the public eye. Very few people post the reality of a situation. Not too many people are posting raw photos of real life situations. Normally a post will be a pretend to have a good life or a good time. Reality is how many people are really happy? How many people really need help out of a situation? How many women are in abusive relationships but according to their social media account they are "living life?!" The way media and social media portrays violence it's still a bit of a taboo.

"Based on my old facebeook no one would have known that I was in an abusive relationship. We looked like a happy family. Yet there were times I begged for his attention while he told me how boring I was. He met someone else online and denied my existence. While I posted pictures of our "happy family." Don't ever fall for the social media mess its all a fluke." -Survivor-
We live in a ADHD type of society we can't focus on one thing for more then 2 seconds. That's exactly how the media is with what's the latest or what's in. What happened to the ALS challenge? We only react for a slight second and then its on to the next hot topic. As great as technology can be what a disservice it's making to the realities of life. Violence is both idolized and bashed through the media. Advertised movies are violent and videos of girls fighting each other are all over the web yet we are also saying #alllivesmatter.

There are so many humans yet too little humanity. It's selfish to always have to prove to the public with a photo or a status. Yet we can't help uplift one another or help a woman in need. Women get judged when she does speak up about her story yet she is called stupid. All this emphasis that is put on social media needs to be transferred into being positive. Let's be a helping hand to each other instead of hiding behind a screen. Ladies if you or someone you know is in a abuse relationship please seek help. As always let's help empower each other we are all queens.
