Judgment day...

That moment in which you are humiliated by someone that should be helping you not knocking you while you are down. A Seminole County FL judge decided to humiliate an abused woman for not showing up to her court date. She sentenced her to three days in jail for not showing up to court to testify against her abusive husband. How can a woman look at another woman and not care for her well being as she begged stating she was already homeless and she had a 1 year old child. The judge didn't seem to care all she was concerned with was the victim not showing up to her court date. This judge victimized, humiliated, antagonized her in front of everyone. The judicial system has so many broken systems but this one takes the cake. This judge clearly was inhumane for such a decision. What if her abusive husband told her if she testifies she will be killed? What if one of his family members threatened her life? These are things that the judge didn't think about before when she was sentencing her.
The judicial system has done many women a disservice. A drug dealer gets a higher charge then a rapist how is this logical? It makes no sense that women can't get the respect they deserve from the law. Can one blame abused women to be scared and back off of charges? NO! She is in fear for her life why isn't this a thought when dealing with victims?! First responders should be there to protect our women not bash our women. The law should be there to help women not help victimize women. An abused woman fights back and then it becomes a problem when she does. She will face jail time for protecting herself. It makes absolute no sense that anywhere she turns she will get penalized.

The judicial system doesn't seem to care for too many people these days but the sad part is that it never cared for women. Our laws aren't enough justice. As women where is the justice to seek help?! Our own women and sisters can't even represent us in the court of law without bashing us. The judge in FL must have a perfect life and doesn't do any wrong to make another woman feel as terrible as the victim did. The judge clearly has never dealt with domestic violence first hand outside of the thrown she sits on. We want women to speak up and testify against abusers yet we can't empower to do so in a court room. It is pathetic that we have no one to rely on accept for the advocates and dv shelters. Ladies just because the law isn't always in our favor please speak up. It is important for the judicial system keep to track of the abuse that you are enduring. If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship speak up. As always you are queens and should be treated as such.
