Toxic relationships are being promoted left and right. Social media, TV, the media in general knows that sex and toxicity sell. But actually living in a toxic abusive situation is another story. It's something that blindsides you. It will make you even question your existence. If you're blessed to get out of the situation that's when the healing process begins.
Healing is a lifelong journey. This is not an overnight process. There will be times you think you have healed and then boom a trigger! At that point you then need to remind yourself that you are still in your healing process. Here are somethings to understand while in your healing process:
-You're not always going to get the closure you think you deserve.
-You're not always going to understand why or receive an explanation as to why.
-It's ok to accept something for what it is and move forward.
-Honor your feelings and let yourself grieve.
-Focus on your selfcare.
-Get help, it's ok to seek help.
Don't be fooled by what the media portrays. Toxic and abusive relationships are never ok! It's not cute, it's not something to brag about, and it's dangerous! Don't be hard on yourself and allow yourself the time and space to heal. Everyone's journey is different. The most important thing is to ensure you are safe and healthy.
